If was an American science fiction magazine launched in March 1952 by Quinn Publications, owned by James L. Quinn. It achieved its greatest success under editor Frederik Pohl, winning the Hugo Award for best professional magazine three years running from 1966 to 1968.

Featuring 'Three Worlds To Conquer' by Poul Anderson, 'Waterspider' by Philip K. Dick, 'In Saturn's Rings' and 'When Time was New' by Robert F. Young, 'The City That Grew in the Sky', 'The Hounds of Hell' and 'Castle of Light by Keith Laumer, 'Farnham's Freehold' by Robert A. Heinlein, 'Father of the Stars' by Frederik Pohl and 'At The Top of the World' by J. T. McIntosh. Also includes writing by; Frank Banta, Jerome Bixby, Jo Friday, E. E. Smith, George O.
