This set groups together issues 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 22 of the first ever Volume of Modern Wonders.

These were published between 22nd May 1937 and 16th Oct 1937

The stunning front covers and content for these early British comics were designed by some of the top British artists of the time some of which went on to work for Eagle in the 1950s. These include a fantastic centre page spread of cut-away drawings.

Modern Wonder certainly was one of the finest publications of its day and gives us an extraordinary everyday insight into the fraught and fast-moving world of the time.

The first issue has an unfortunate large corner missing from the front cover, but on the whole these are in really pretty good condition considering their age.
