This is the Signed unique original Watercolour painting by James E McConnell.

The second ever painting by James McConnell for the publisher Alvin Redman. Painted in 1955, published in 1956.

This original front cover artwork for the novel 'The Spanish Bride' by Walter O'Meara also shows the wrap around of the spine bearing the author's name and title. There is also a pasted-on Chief's head which was the publisher's logo.

McConnell paints in his mesmerizingly smooth watercolours, using slightly thicker whites as highlights.

The painting is signed in paint in the lower right hand corner.
