This is the original artwork by Phillip Mendoza for Katie Country Mouse, published 1st December, 1962.

"Katie Country Mouse" was a strip that ran in Harold Hare's Own (1959-64), drawn by Philip Mendoza, and Jack and Jill (1964-73), drawn by Harold Tamblyn-Watts.

It followed the life of a mouse who lived in a home made out of a barrel. Readers were given paper-and-scissors crafts that tied in with the stories.
